Ten years from first sale
10 years: the last factory clock in the table stops

10 years from first sale. That is the longest clock in our factory table, and only three brands run it.
The factory clocks
Hyundai, Kia and Mitsubishi run powertrain coverage for 10 years or 100,000 miles. Everything else in the 27-brand table stops at 4, 5 or 6 years. By the tenth anniversary of first sale, every clock in the table has stopped, whatever the odometer says.
Model year versus first sale
The factory clock starts on the day the car was first sold, not on January 1 of its model year. A car built for one model year and sold well into the next has a clock that runs later than the badge suggests.
Contract companies often count the other way, by model year. olive's FAQ prints a 10 model year limit (olive.com/faqs). Endurance's prints 20 model years or newer (endurancewarranty.com/faq). Both read October 16, 2026. Ask each company how it counts the current year, because a one-year difference in counting moves a car across the line.
Confirm against your VIN. The factory clock starts at first sale, not at the model year. Terms vary by model year, trim and market.

Questions for the quote
- Do you count age by model year or by the date of first sale?
- Does the limit apply on the day I buy, or does the car have to stay under it for the whole term?
- Are any plans closed to cars this old even when the miles are low?
- What happens to the contract when the car crosses your age limit mid-term?
What to expect on your model
Mileage is half of it. The other half is the car itself. The advertiser keeps model-year pages by make and model with the factory terms and the questions owners ask. Those pages are theirs, not ours.
